Top & Flop of Taranto-Picerno

It’s another 0-0 that smiles on Taranto who goes through the round and goes to the national play-off phase. A match approached decidedly better by the Ionian players undoubtedly favored by the foolishness of Murano who was kicked out in the first half for an elbow to Miceli. An episode that terribly complicated Picerno’s match, which in the long run never really created any danger for the Apulians. In the first half there was an excellent start for Taranto who, unlike the match against Latina, started with the right attitude and good determination. Capuano’s initial 3-5-2 surprises everyone with a different tactical attitude than usual. The move by Ladinetti and Matera is made to prevent too much space for Picerno. But the decisive episode of this half and of the match is the expulsion of Murano who, with an unfortunate elbow to Miceli detected by VAR, leaves his team numerically inferior. A situation that completely changes the game with Picerno forced to play without an offensive reference. In terms of emotions there are no great opportunities except for a free kick from Matera deflected for a corner by Summa and a conclusion from Zonta at the start of the match with the ball deflected for a corner. For Picerno we remember an overhead kick by D’Agostino with the ball blocked by Vannucchi. In the second half Capuano switches to 3-4-3 with the entry of Kanoutè and Bifulco. The Taranto team starts very strong and Kanoutè himself hits the post with a personal action. Then, however, it becomes a cross for the Taranto team as Zonta’s penalty kick fails and is brought down by Pitarresi. The match travels on the wings of balance with Picerno struggling a lot due to their numerical inferiority and not creating any real dangers at Vannucchi’s goal. Indeed, it is Taranto who tries with Kanoutè who wants to make amends for the failed penalty but his shot is deflected for a corner by Summa. The match slips away with Taranto in excellent control and Picerno who, in fact, is unable to actually get to Vannucchi’s area. Thus it ends once again with the joy of the Taranto fans after what happened against Latina. A second 0-0 which allows the Ionian team to go to the national stage. Picerno ends its season here with a lot of regret for having played almost the entire match with ten men due to Murano’s great naivety. Now the tops and flops of the game

TOP

Ladinetti (Taranto): game of substance and quality from the Ionian midfielder, a truly great initial move from Capuano. OPTIMAL

War (Picerno): excellent match from the visitors’ midfielder who played with substance and quality. POSITIVE

FLOP

Kanoutè (Taranto): the Senegalese striker’s entry onto the pitch in the second half wasn’t the best. The failed penalty weighs on the conscience. NOT PRECISE

Murano (Picerno): a decidedly negative match for the Lucanian attacker who becomes the protagonist of an absurd and counterproductive episode for his team. Wretched
