Maribor, third success in a row in the eternal derby
Since last December the eternal Slovenian derby has smiled only at Maribor. With this latest success, the Viola have come off three victories in a row against Olimpija Ljubljana. The matches between the two most representative teams in Slovenia were always hard-fought and full of goals. But the one who rejoiced this season was Celje, who won the title with three matchdays to spare. Maribor, meanwhile, with the victory obtained in the derby, overtook Olimpija in second place (66 points to 64) with one matchday remaining in the championship.
