Anmil, territorial congress in Piacenza: “Promoting a true culture of safety”

This morning (11 May) the meeting took place in the association house in via Musso territorial congress of the Anmil (National Association of disabled and disabled workers at work). The participating delegates voted for the territorial council of Piacenza to elect a regional councilor and two delegates to the national congress which will be held in Pescara in the first days of June.

During the congress proceedings, among others, the outgoing president spoke Maurice Manfredi: “For me these four years of presidency have been very important. I had the opportunity to meet with many representatives of local institutions and this was a source of personal enrichment. Unfortunately, I was elected at the very moment in which the Covid epidemic broke out and this, together with the significant economic problems Anmil has encountered in recent years, also induced by delays in payments from the public administration, has substantially slowed down our action. But in any case the role has absorbed a lot of energy and commitment and this is why I no longer intend to run for president. I wish whoever takes my place good luck.”

The former president spoke Giovanni Ferrari underlining the importance of prevention in the workplace. “I believe that the experience that we have been carrying out for many years now with the students of Piacenza high schools is more important than ever at this moment, when a massacre takes place in the workplace. Anmil feels the duty to make his wealth of experience and knowledge available to the community promote a true culture of safetywhich is too often forgotten in our country’s workplaces.”

Then he intervened Bruno Galvani, former president and national councilor: “I would have many things to say about our partnership after a personal experience that has lasted for 30 years in which I have held various roles both at a local and national level. But today, when we have to give continuity to an association that for over eighty years has been the voice of those who lose their lives or physical integrity at work, as well as that of all Italian people with disabilities, I spend my words to thank those who are here today and have given their availability and their time to work for free in favor of a society where safety at work and the rights of all citizens, without exception, must be substantial and shared principles. Committing to the community is a privilege of which we should be proud.”
