Reggio Calabria is hosting the 1st edition of the Congress at Palazzo San Giorgio “Intensive Care in Rhegion: Focus on Sepsis”, organized by the Intensive Care and Anesthesia UOC of the GOM and the Post-operative Intensive Care. It is an interactive event that allows participants to discuss with prestigious teachers considered international references, on a highly topical topic, sepsis.

Present are Massimo Antonelli, Full Professor of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Director of the Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Emergency Sciences at the A. Gemelli University Hospital IRCCS, Paolo Navalesi, Full Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Padua , Director of the Specialization School of Anesthesia, Resuscitation, Intensive Care and Pain at the University of Padua. Silvia De Rosa, Researcher at the CIS Med Medical Sciences Center of the University of Trento, consultant in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Santa Chiara Regional Hospital, APSS, Trento, Massimo Girardis, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Trento Modena, Director of the Complex Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Facility at the Modena University Hospital and Bruno Viaggi, Head of the Unit for healthcare Associated Infections in Critical Care at the Careggi University Hospital.

The interesting sessions will be moderated by teachers of Anesthesia and Resuscitation from the University of Catanzaro: professors Andrea Bruni, Eugenio Garofalo and Federico Longhini and from the University of Messina; professors Antonio David and Alberto Noto, assisted by other experts on the topic from extra-regional hospital structures. The discussion will be animated by representatives of the Calabrian Intensive Care Units and the Strait area together with the Provokers: Dr. Massimo Caracciolo, Dr. Marco Tescione and Dr. Sebastiano Macheda, Scientific Director of the event. As part of a broader project for the future, this edition will talk about sepsis, a clinical syndrome characterized by a multiplicity of characteristics and potential evolutions that make it a global problem requiring continuous updates and insights.
