ALESSANDRIA – The “assisted cycle Alexandria” project launched yesterday evening at the headquarters of the Green Cross in Alessandria.
It was created thanks to the Cassa di Risparmio di Torino Foundation with the patronage of the provincial and municipal administrations of Alessandria.
The initiative consists of the local health service on board two pedal-assisted bicycles by the volunteers of the Alessandria Green Cross on the occasion of events, sporting events, fairs, rallies, markets or any other initiative that potentially creates crowding of people.
In these cases the e-bikes will allow rescuers to move easily through the crowdreducing arrival times on site, with the necessary equipment to allow an initial medical aid intervention.
“Providing first aid”
«”Alessandria cycle assisted” – he explained Antonella Gilardengopresident of the Green Cross of Alessandria – is a territorial patrol project aimed at providing first aid by operators, in possession of the necessary qualifications required by regional training standards, who will move in the urban context with two e-bikes equipped with defibrillator and medical bags and who will be able to communicate promptly, if necessary, with the 118 territorial emergency health system.
Free service
The service provided will be completely free and will contribute to making the city safer as time, a fundamental factor in the success of rescue operations, and the adequate preparation of the personnel employed can save a life.
“A crew of rescuers on bicycles (medical bike patrol) – explained the president – represents a streamlined tool for moving in congested situations and a solution to quickly reach even the most crowded placeswithout neglecting the attention paid to environmental sustainability”.
