At the end of April the Rolfi council has in fact given the green light to the relevant memorandum of understanding with the Prefecturefirst act for the establishment of neighborhood control groups.
«Maintaining adequate levels of safety represents a determining factor for the social and economic development of the area as well as a fundamental term of comparison for evaluating the quality of life of the community – we read in the council resolution -. The theme of security, whose protection takes the form of maintaining public order and safetyconcerns in a broad sense every activity aimed at ensuring compliance with the rules that regulate civil life and the improvement of living conditions, civil coexistence and social cohesion”.
«They occur in the municipal territory petty crime phenomena that create social alarm and a widespread sense of perceived insecurity – continues the documents -. The police forces operating in the municipal area do not always have sufficient resources to deal with these events, especially in terms of personnel. From here, also seen the desire expressed by several citizens to «activate neighborhood control groups in some areas of the municipal territory», the choice to sign the protocol with the Prefecture to start the project, which «envisages the active participation of residents, the recovery of the rules of civil life, social cohesion and attention in support of the prevention of criminal behavior and petty crime in general , in order to put the police forces in a position to benefit from a broader information framework through the direct participation of the relevant community”.
