Very important event, today and tomorrow, at the Paolo Borsellino Hospital in Marsala. A meeting aimed at improving skills in the most advanced endoscopic techniques in the urological field, among the objectives of the course “Endourology Course Hands-on: State of the Art Looking at the Future”, created by Emanuele Caldarera, director of the Urology Complex Operational Unit , in collaboration with the Urology Specialization Schools of the Universities of Messina and Catania, directed respectively by Vincenzo Ficarra and Sebastiano Cimino. The event is aimed at recent residents with the aim of learning more about the most commonly used endoscopic techniques on the upper urinary excretory route, with particular reference to the treatment of urinary stones.
During the event, in addition to an in-depth section on the most innovative methods in the endourological field, there will be the possibility of using a digital intervention simulator, the latest invention of Israeli manufacture. The course will end with a surgery section during which it will be possible to witness two simultaneous operations live in the operating rooms of the Paolo Borsellino hospital: while Caldarera will perform a robot-assisted flexible ureterorenolithorrhyxy, followed by a nephrolithotripsy with mini-percutaneous access At the same time, the French surgeon Olivier Traxer, professor at the Sorbonne University in Paris and one of the world’s leading experts in urinary lithiasis, will perform two flexible ureterorenolitripsy operations.
