Foggia. On Wednesday 8 May, over two hundred men from the Penitentiary Police conducted an important extraordinary search operation in the Foggia prison.
The search involved 366 inmates, the entire “New Complex” Department and the 1st and 2nd sections of the “Old Judicial” Department. Thanks to the intense reclamation work of the men of the Foggia Penitentiary Police Department and the Avellino dog units, two smartphones and 22 grams of hashish were found inside the cells, while 6 rudimentary ropes were found on a roof .
Following the checks, 6 detainees were reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the material found was seized.
“The operation conducted by the Penitentiary Police made it possible to restore order and legality in the departments concerned, preventing the establishment of criminal hierarchies in prison and guaranteeing the necessary safety for the inmate population and those who work there. With the Meloni Government, no more gray areas of illegality and insecurity!”, declares the Undersecretary of State for Justice Andrea Delmastro delle Vedove.
