The three, members of the Sinesi-Francavilla batterywere found guilty for the events of September 5, 2016, when they attacked Vincenzo D’Angelo in his homelocated near a truck stop on State Route 16. During the attack, they kicked and punched D’Angelo and shot into the building, killing the guard dog.

The criminal group demanded a payment of 80 thousand euros for a non-existent credit. On 7 October 2016, the flying squad arrested five people, including Rodolfo Bruno, a member of the Moretti-Pellegrino clan, who was killed on 15 November 2018. The owner’s uncle was also involved in the beating, but he managed to take refuge in the house, at which the group fired numerous shots.

During the raid, the park’s guard dog was killed. The investigations were facilitated by images from the video surveillance system. Three 7.65 caliber shell casings and a .22 caliber bullet were found at the scene.

Francesco Pesante, convicted of attempted murder, attempted extortion and illegal possession of weapons, was captured in November of the same year in an apartment in Via Lucera, thanks to a series of technical activities launched after his fugitive.
