The launch event of the Program on the European Regional Development Fund 2021-2027 entitled “A smarter and more sustainable Sardinia with the support of Europe. It was about the first moment of comparison, with subject matter experts, on the two main transitions of the new programming: the digital and green transition. The event also saw the presence of students from Sardinian schools who participated in the final act of the Europe School Contest, the team competition on the fundamental themes of the European Union and the ERDF.

We thus give substance to the historic Schuman Declaration, a fundamental pillar for the construction of European unity. This festival, also thanks to the presence of students from all over Sardinia – underlined the vice president of the Sardinia Region – is an important opportunity to reflect and transmit those common values ​​to the new generations who will be called to build an increasingly united and prosperous Europe”.

Regarding the regional Fesr 21-27 program, councilor Meloni expressed his appreciation for “a document that has been defined through continuous discussion with the partnership, a privileged interlocutor for a construction of the Program that has always been shared for the purpose to achieve the best results and effectively intercept the needs of the so-called stakeholders and possible beneficiaries.”

On the huge resources deployed by the ERDF, approximately 1 and a half billion eurosMeloni said he was confident that, together with the others that will arrive from Europe and national investment plans, “they can truly represent – he concluded – tools capable of creating development and stable employment in Sardinia”.

The Managing Authority, Luca Galassi, recalled the road map that led to the approval by the European Commission of the ERDF regional program Sardinia 21-27, highlighting the contribution it provides to the EU environmental objectives, to the transversal objectives (gender equality and sustainable urban development) . The financial allocation, Galassi recalled, is equal to 1,581.04 million euros, and is distributed over six main priorities: Intelligent competitiveness; Digital transition; Green transition; Sustainable urban mobility; Sardinia more social and inclusive; Integrated urban and territorial sustainable development. Added to these is the priority relating to technical assistance actions. The financial endowment of the ERDF Sardinia is fueled both by European resources (70%) and by a portion of national co-financing (30%).

The Cagliari eventpromoted by the Regional Programming Center as part of the communication strategy of the Sardinia ERDF regional programme, anticipated the four subsequent technical meetings that will take place in the month of May in the regional territory focused on as many priorities of the regional program: Integrated urban and territorial sustainable development, Green transition, Sardinia more social and inclusive, Intelligent competitiveness.
