CBS Big Match – Brescia U19 Next Gen Cup: Cazzagobornato apotheosis, Travagliato beaten
Cazzagobornato Calcio wins the Brescia Next Gen Under 19 Cup for the Junior category. The success, for what was seen in the ninety minutes of the “Mundial 82” in Capenedolo, is highly deserved. For its part, Virtus Aurora Travagliato cannot complain about anything; the red furies fought with courage and pride but the difference was made by individuals and values on the pitch.
Going in order, Cazzagobornato enters the match after defeating Lumezzane in the quarter-finals and Desenzano in the semi-finals. THE reds of Travagliato, a real surprise of the eventafter the great comeback against Voluntas Montichiari in the quarter-finals they got the better of La Sportiva Ome 2-0 in the semi-final.
Cazzagobornato who starts with a very tidy 3-5-2, where Scarsi and Boventi have the task of oscillating between midfield and attack trying to trigger the two strikers Marinaci and Inverardi, constantly sought by Mr. Romeda’s boys. Travagliato responds with a sort of 4-2-3-1 where the left winger Maina, in the non-possession phase, squeezes in the middle of the field, changing the formation into a 4-3-1-2 with Roverselli behind Fratti and Mafezzoni, more out of the way on the right.
From the first stages of the matches, the yellow-blues tried to impose their own pace. The first big opportunity arrives in the sixteenth minute: Boventi rewards Inverardi’s movement, the number 8 is good at waiting for the right moment to serve Lorini in the middle of the area, who shoots hard towards goal; unfortunately for him, the right-footed shot hits the crossbar and the result remains 0-0.
The occasion scares Aurora and instills courage in the Franciacortaswho came close to scoring the lead two minutes later with a photocopy action: Scarsi is good at serving Ziliani deep, the left winger slips away from Ghedi and serves in the center again for Lorini, the shot from seven is strong but tall.
In the twenty-fifth Benedetti is careful on the right from a tight angle by Inverardi, but the best opportunity of the first half of the game was on Marinaci’s right foot in the thirty-fifth minute: misunderstanding between Rocchi and Donini, Marinaci is quick to gain possession of the ball and kick from an excellent position. The attacker’s right foot is strangled and hisses close to the post.
In the second half the script doesn’t change, it’s a CBC monologue, the goal is in the air and arrives promptly in the thirteenth minute: Inverardi works a wonderful ball on the baseline, skips Rossi and Donini, serving on the edge of the area to Scarsi; the yellow-blue midfielder has plenty of time to control and launch a delicious left-footed shot that stops his run under the top corner: it’s the advantage!
The goal revives Travagliato who raises the center of gravity without, however, producing clear scoring opportunities. It is the future champions, however, who come close to doubling their lead, first with a right-footed shot from outside by Boventi and then again with Lorini who, face to face with Benedetti, wastes everything by kicking to the stars.
At minute thirty-five the episode that definitively closes the match: free kick from the left taken by Boventi. The captain of the Franciacortini kicks hard and tensely in the middle where the fastest of all is the usual Inverardi, who hits the ball with his head and swells the net behind Benedetti. 2-0!
The goal explodes the celebrations at Cazzagobornato. Travagliato’s last attacks in injury time: Donini volleys just wide and Simonini wastes a free kick from the edge.
The remaining minutes are the wait that amplifies the desire for Cazzagobornato who, after a bitter relegation, redeems the season by repeating the category success of 2016/2017. The defeat in the final, however, does not take anything away from Mr. Magrone’s boys, authors of an extraordinary season between the championship (second place in the regional B and still in the running in the play-offs) and the Brescia Cup.

We didn’t manage to break the deadlock in the first half, we did it in the second and from there the game changed. In finding the 2-0 the game is over. They were sixty intense days, I arrived two months ago, when the situation was a little complex, I didn’t do anything extraordinary. I think I brought a little bit of serenity within the group, the boys have always trained great even after the relegation, they deserve it”.

Giovanni Inverardi, Cazzagobornato Calcio: he always gives the idea of being dangerous. He constantly worries the opposing defense by attacking every loose ball with strength and speed. In the two goals scored by the champions there is his signature: at 1-0 he is very capable of slipping out on the right and providing the assist to Scarsi. The 2-0, however, is all about him, great choice of timing and winning shot. Top class player.
