Countdown to the presentation of the electoral lists for the next municipal elections in June. The deadline is Saturday 11 May at midday. Delivery can take place from 8am tomorrow, Friday 10 May, to kick off the electoral campaign for these 2024 municipal elections. Seven mayoral candidates in Avellino ready to challenge each other with debates, rallies and confrontations in the streets, barring any last-minute surprises.
The lists for Antonio Gengaro
As far as the center-left is concerned, the candidate for mayor is broad-based Antonio Gengaro it should have four lists in support: that of the Democratic Party with the presence of some outgoing city councilors: Ettore Iacovacci, Luca Cipriano, Nicola Giordano, Gennaro Cesa, Marietta Giordano and Franco Russo, but the latter would still be in doubt. But these are simple rumors, for which there is no official status yet. Another list would belong to the M5S, a third with references from Si Can, Controvento and Allenaza Verdi and Sinistra and the fourth which would include references from App, Più Europa and Insieme per Avellino and Irpinia.
Civics on the field for Laura Nargi
Laura Nargi works to define the latest candidacies of the four lists that will make up her civic coalition. In support of Nargi, who is setting up his headquarters in via Matteotti, the two lists that the former mayor, Gianluca Festa, organized in 2019, “Really” and “Viva la Libertà”, within which the former councilors Antonio Genovese, Marianna Mazza, Giuseppe Negrone, as well as the outgoing councilors of the two majority groups who should be joined by Monica Spiezia, elected in opposition in 2019 from the ranks of the League. Lists for Genovese
Journalist Rino Genovese has made his candidacy for mayor of Avellino official in recent hours through social media, publishing the symbol of the team that will support him, called “Civic Pact for Avellino”.
Barring last-minute surprises, there would be multiple lists to support him: One with references to Forza Italia, the second coordinated by the regional councilor of the Moderates and Reformists, Livio Petitto; the third sponsored by Primavera Meridionale, the fourth sponsored by the «Cittadini in Movimento» association and the last organized directly by the candidate for mayor, who yesterday received the support of Noi Moderati. And Giuseppe De Mita’s Popular Base would also be in the lineup
Fdi with Modestino Iandoli
The Melonians of Fratelli d’Italia remain in the race with their candidate for mayor, the provincial manager and historic city administrator Modestino Iandoli and tomorrow afternoon the committee headquarters will also be inaugurated along Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
