Fortitudo immediately doubles their lead and already has the semi-final valid for promotion in their sights. 48 hours after the success in game 1, the blue and whites conceded an encore in game 2, they put Treviglio against the wall and capitalized on the field factor of the two matches played at PalaDozza.
The attack turns, the defense closes
This time too there was no competition and it even ended in triumph: 86-56. Now there will be three match points available to close the score, the first already on Friday evening away. For Effe, the American pair formed by Ogden and Freeman was enthralling (15 points for the former, 16 for the latter), also inspired by Aradori (15 with 6/11 from the field) and inspiring Fantinelli (11 assists). Worth noting is the excellent response provided by many members of the bench who deserved Caja’s trust. Treviglio tries to make a loud statement at the start but it’s a matter of a few actions before Fortitudo draws already at 6 and launches into a sprint, driven by Aradori’s aim up to 17-8. The attack turns, the defense closes off every option and so, as soon as Ogden also lights up, it is easy for the home team to escape with a double-digit lead up to 27-16 which marks the end of the first quarter. Effe doesn’t take her foot off the accelerator in the second half and so, with Fantinelli in full control, after just 4 minutes the double arrives against Treviglio at 36-18. Giuri and Sergio’s bombs even lead to +26 for the biancoblù which is the half-match gap: 49-23.
Last quarter of pure academy
The script doesn’t change after the break as Aradori hits two consecutive triples, Fantinelli follows suit and so Fortitudo finds itself managing a sensational +32. The tension on the blue and white side drops slightly but the opponents don’t have the strength to take advantage of it and so Freeman and another shot from afar by Giuri allow the third quarter to end on a more than reassuring 67-43. Last quarter of pure academy with Panni, Fantinelli and Giuri finding the three-point target without any problem to further adjust the maximum gap to +33 before the final banner. Now comes one more day of rest compared to the first two matches, then we will go to Treviglio to play the match which could close the score in favor of Fortitudo, who appeared in full control.
