Feast of San Nicolò in Collescipoli, from 9 to 18 May, with many scheduled events organized by the parish of Santa Maria Maggiore and San Nicola.
The village of Collescipoli celebrates its patron saint starting from 9pm on Thursday 9th with the Holy Mass which will precede the procession with the saint’s urn accompanied by the Societas Sancti Nicolai drum group and the Casperia musical band. Two concerts of the Hermans Festival 11 and 18 May embellish the party.
The second weekend of May opens with the burraco competition (Friday 10th) scheduled at the Social Centre.
The following day (Saturday 11th) the Magician Lino will liven up the afternoon with his magic (5pm). In the evening (9pm) at Nicolò’s church there will be a performance by the students of the violin, cello, piano and singing classes of the Musicalia Association who will perform music by Vivaldi, Bach, Schumann, Joplin, Bastien, Vinciguerra, Pleyel, Diabelli.
Finally, on Sunday 12 May, worth mentioning is the medieval procession of the flag-wavers and musicians of the city of Jupiter and the Societas Sancti Nicola drummers (4pm).
The events will continue throughout the following week. A dive back in time, returning to the medieval era (Wednesday 15 May at 9pm) “to the rolling of drums in royal sound to celebrate the Holy and the medieval May”.
The presentation of the book ‘Strambastorie’ and screening of the book trailer shot through the streets of the village is scheduled for Thursday 16th. During the evening it will also be possible to admire the starry sky at the Belvedere Don G.Ceroni.
The grand finale with the choral concert of San Francesco d’Assisi of Terni (Friday 17 May at 9pm) and the performance of the Medieval Fencing swordsmen and archers company of the three districts with the Societas Sancti Nicolai drummers (Saturday 18 May at 6pm ).
The tavern is open every evening with typical dishes such as the traditional ‘Gnocchetti alla collescipolana’.
