The third stage of the 2024 Giro d’Italia should represent the first big opportunity for the sprinters, despite a finish that could be eventful with a 4% stretch before the last three kilometres. There is certainly great anticipation for this first challenge between the Corsa Rosa sprinters, even if the last part could hide some pitfalls and lead to some surprises.

This is the first big opportunity for the sprinters. There are some small tears like the Lu and Cherasco ones, the latter located about twenty kilometers from the finish line, but which should absolutely not create problems for the sprinters. However, the final should not be underestimated, with the sprinters’ trains having to be ready to make the most of this chance and will have to manage the 4% stretch as best as possible before the last three kilometres. It could also be the springboard for those who want to try a solo escape.

Great expectations for Jonathan Milan, but the Italian sprinter will have great opponents to beat such as Tim Merlier, Olav Kooij, who must understand his physical recovery after yesterday’s fall, Fernando Gaviria, Fabio Jakobsen, Kaden Groves and Caleb Ewan. Truly an extraordinary parterre and the Italians Alberto Dainese and Giovanni Lonardi also hope to join. The final stage, however, promises some sparks and attention also to Filippo Ganna who could be part of the match.
