During the week, afternoons and evenings, it is easy to find the candidates for mayor in the offices of the electoral committees which are all, except one, concentrated in a few hundred meters in the historic centre, i.e. in Corso Vittorio Emanuele. On Tuesday morning, the candidates and their entourage go to the weekly market to be attacked by the housewives. On Saturday evenings they go around pizzerias and restaurants and on Sundays they go to the Lungomare beaches where young people love to have an evening aperitif. Tonight there was an attack on a well-known beach in search of very young people. Rites that will be repeated for weeks. The candidate’s “holy weeks”. This is what the electoral campaign is for: to resurrect the dead (the historic centre), to bring adults to the places where young people live at the weekend and to the peripheral neighborhoods on other days.
