Excellent news in Casa Italia, with Lucrezia Magistris which officially ensures the Individual Olympic quota In the weightlifting for the Paris 2024 Games.

On Saturday 25 May, the International Olympic Weightlifting Federation published the latest updated version of the world ranking.

The changes made concerned the duplication of nationality and the decisions of the countries regarding the category in which to compete in Paris. As a result, all rankings have undergone changes.

Among the categories involved, also the women’s 59kg, which saw the Italian climb to tenth place in the world rankings thanks to the result obtained at the Doha 2023 Grand Prix: 102kg of snatch, 115kg of clean and 217kg of total which earned it the new Italian record in the category.

The Italian athlete joins the list of those already qualified Sergio Massiddathird in the category up to 61kg, and Nino Pizzolatosixth in the category up to 89kg.

Since the National Olympic Committees (NOC) have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes’ participation in the Paris Games depends on their NOC’s selection of representatives in the delegation to Paris 2024.
