The match between Virtus Bolzano and Campodarsego, valid for the thirty-fourth matchday of group C of Serie D, ends with one goal each. At the Internorm Arena Stancic’s goal brings the score into balance after Casella’s initial goal.

The start was at a slow pace, with Virtus’ sterile possession dominating. As the minutes passed, the midfielders lowered themselves, bonded more with the defensive unit and the red and whites found a way to rush forward. Like in the 5th minute when Elis Kaptina attempts an impossible overhead kick, intercepted by an alleged touch of the arm: for the referee Radovanovic there is nothing. A similar situation is repeated a few turns later, when Cupani falls in the area after a tackle and in turn claims a penalty. The race director says no. The result was an enjoyable match, full of clashes in the middle of the field despite the summer heat inevitably affecting physical conditions already affected by the long season. The twist comes in the 20th minute after Cocola, in an attempt to slalom between the home defenders, earns a free kick: Casella takes the ball and with a powerful right-footed shot rebounds the barrier and the trajectory goes into the goal, mocking an innocent Pircher. Virtus Bolzano remains alive and reacts, using the wingers to cross several times. In the 30th minute Tschigg gets the good start: Stancic is caught in the small area and with a left-footed turn as a true attacker brings the match back to parity. It’s not a goal, but it’s worth as much as Elis Kaptina’s save in the 34th minute: the Albanian captain sacrifices himself with his body on Pavanello’s gore. A little later it was Pircher who saved the result, clearing a close-range shot from Segalina. But the South Tyrolean goalkeeper surpasses himself in the 42nd minute, when Casella attempts the second joker from a free kick: this time the ball is aimed at the top corner and Pircher, with his fingertips, deflects it for a corner.

The second half begins with the same performers and with a thrill for Virtus Bolzano. A few seconds pass and Mosti, after a percussion in the area, unleashes a right-footed shot that grazes the post and gives the optical illusion of a goal on the outside net. In the following minutes the match becomes increasingly stingy with dangerous situations. Osorio tries in the 70th minute, making two opponents drunk and kicking high over the crossbar from 25 metres. Mister Sebastiani notices the stalemate and makes the first changes, inserting the young Bussi and Zeni. With the new additions something changes and Virtus is perpetually in the Venetian trocar. One of the clearest chances comes from the polite feet of Busetto, in the 77th minute, on a free kick: the Venetian central defender grazes the woodwork to Minozzi’s right. A minute later Minozzi himself surpassed himself, saving the result with a feline reflex on Milani’s shot, an improvised center forward. Campodarsego tries in every way to waste time considering that one point is enough for them to reach the playoffs. Instead, Virtus, with nothing to lose, pushes in search of their fifth victory of the season, which on points would be fully deserved. Cremonini lights up at the stroke of the ninetieth minute, burns an opponent and puts a chocolate in the middle which Moussaoui narrowly misses. It was the last chance of the match and of the Serie D regular season which will continue in the coming weeks with the promotion and salvation play-offs.
