A accident occurred this morning on the state road 121 Palermo-Agrigento. A car, Jeep Renegade model, and a motorbike were involved in the impact. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage. Two were injured and taken to the Palermo Civic Hospital for checks. In the afternoon, a second accident occurred, this time on the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo. At least six vehicles were involved, with traffic immediately going haywire.

The episode on the SS121 occurred around noon near the nursery Mysylmers, near the artisan market junction. The collision occurred in particular on the roadway towards Agrigento. A state police car and a patrol from the Lercara Friddi traffic police command arrived on site. Traffic in the area was slowed down for a few hours. There were at least two injured. They were rescued by the 118 staff. The conditions of the subjects involved are not yet known, who were taken to the Civic hospital in Palermo for checks. In the afternoon, around 6pm, a second impact occurred, this time on the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo. The collision occurred in one of the motorway tunnels near the junction Capable. There were at least six vehicles involved in the incident, with traffic remaining clogged for several hours in the direction of the Sicilian capital. Many tourist buses and holidaymakers’ vehicles were stuck in traffic. The 118 ambulances and road rescue vehicles have arrived on site and will have to remove the vehicles involved. Many have tried to change itinerary by exiting at the Carini junction and thus taking the SS113, but without particular results. Returning to the city during this spring weekend is proving particularly difficult. Also thanks to the beautiful day, many left the city for a trip out of town. Some vehicles have been queuing for more than two hours.
