Livorno Livorno’s championship ends with a defeat, falling to Orvieto thanks to a goal conceded in the first half and almost never managing to make themselves dangerous in an attempt to gain a point which, in any case, would not have changed the substance of the standings and of a decidedly disappointing championship. Now in the playoffs for the Amaranths there will be the obstacle Grosseto. A queue that at the moment seems almost useless. Everyone’s mind is on the news that could arrive on the corporate front. The match was lively and close only in the first few minutes, with one opportunity for each side (Frati for Livorno, Proia for the Umbrians) between the 2nd and 5th minutes of the first half. The greater motivations of Orvietana, however, are not enough to make up for the technical weakness of the Umbrians, who commit many errors in the construction phase. Just before half-time, Orvietana was left with ten men due to Lorenzini’s expulsion for a second yellow card and Livorno came close to equalizing with Ronchi, who headed the ball against the crossbar. In the second half the pace remained low, with the hosts more determined to hold on to the result than Livorno tried to get it back on its feet. There were few leaps forward for the Amaranths, who created little or nothing even after the entry of Cori and Marinari. Livorno’s first shot on goal came in the 23rd minute with a central strike from outside by substitute Luci. Very little happens at the end of the second half. From the guest sector, more chants against the presidency and direct calls to step aside. Next Sunday at the “Zecchini” the playoff semi-final against Grosseto. But the feeling is that the most important match of the next few days, Livorno will have to play off the pitch.
