The Local Police of Caserta, directed by Commander Colonel Antonio Piricelli, in the late
Saturday afternoon, following a report from the caretaker, she intervened at the cemetery
municipal site in Via Cappuccini to carry out checks on a niche. From the findings carried out by the Local Police Agents and from an initial reconstruction of the scene, it was found that the external part of the niche had been destroyed and shattered, thus remaining uncovered and that inside there was no ossuary containing the remains of the deceased. Investigations were started to ascertain whether the remains of the deceased had been moved to another location within the cemetery, carrying out immediate checks on site and also contacting those responsible for the sector. All hypotheses are being examined by the Local Police, including the alleged theft of the ossuary with the remains currently unknown. At the invitation of Commander Piricelli, the cemetery caretaker formalized the complaint at the offices of the Local Police Command.
