Foggia. The eighth edition of the Nerd Festivalan event that has now become traditional for comics and games enthusiasts from all over Italy.
The event, which this year will be held in the central area of the city, is organized by the ‘Festival del Nerd’ Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Foggia, with the support of Covo del Nerd, the Gulliver Comics School of Foggia, the University of the Studies of Foggia and the Bibliomuseale Center of Foggia.
This edition will also see the presence of numerous stands, whose managers will come from all over Italy and which will offer sector enthusiasts the opportunity to purchase and discover many products from the nerd world, comics, gadgets, action figures and much more.
In parallel, an exhibition of the works of Luca Maresca, author of the manifesto for the 2024 edition, will be set up at the Palazzetto dell’Arte.
STAGE AREA/LIVE EVENTS
Also for the Stage Area, Sunday 5 May starts at 10.30am with PRINCESSREMIXED – The Quiz, an interactive Disney-themed quiz that offers the public the opportunity to test their knowledge of iconic Disney stories and characters. This event will transform the stage into a true stage of knowledge, where Disney fans of all ages can demonstrate their knowledge of some of the world’s most beloved characters and stories.
After the quiz, until 11.45am, there will be Random K-POP with QT Dream and Misul, a 15-minute musical segment featuring the most famous K-POP songs. The groups QT Dream and Misul will bring the K-POP hits of the moment to the stage. After this short but intense musical break, the event will move to the city streets of the city center, allowing the public to follow the artists and continue the musical experience in a larger and more open space.
Also in the morning at 11.45am PRINCESSREMIXED – The Medley, an extract from the complete show “PRINCESSREMIXED”, which presents the most iconic moments in a short medley. Spectators will be able to relive the most memorable scenes of Disney songs, reinterpreted with a new and contemporary spirit, then, until 1pm, Role Playing Groups – Talk D&D.
Roleplaying Groups – Talk D&D is an enlightening panel discussion on roleplaying games, with a particular focus on Dungeons and Dragons. Experts and enthusiasts, including members of Got Puglia, Beroler and il Covo della Fenice, will explore the facets of these games that continue to capture the imagination of millions of players around the world, including the presentation of the new role-playing game Armakitten.
Fun until 2pm with Supernova – Hazbin Hotel and their performance. Supernova will present a Dance Cover of the animated musical “Hazbin Hotel”. This tribute to the popular show is an explosion of captivating choreography and performances that perfectly capture the essence of the cartoon.
From 2pm Max of Mondi Sommersi + Bepo – Talk on TikTok, an exciting talk on TikTok focused on the anime and nerd world, led by Bepo and Max of Mondi Sommersi. Ideal for discovering trends, the most popular content and how these influencers are shaping nerd culture on the platform.
At 2.30pm the expected Mosé + Pagnotta will offer a live dubbing performance followed by an interview that explores their work and their career in dubbing anime and nerd content.
At 6pm the colors of Behind – Cosplay Competition, where enthusiasts and amateurs compete by presenting their best costumes, representing characters from various nerd universes in a context of creativity and colour.
The competition will be followed by an interview with the Arcigay Le Bigotte association of Foggia, where we will discuss the importance of inclusion in the nerd world, exploring themes of diversity and acceptance in geek communities.
From 7pm to 8pm we will dance with The Stars of Hokuto, who will propose a dynamic concert with the group “The Stars of Hokuto”, which will offer a selection of songs inspired by the classics of the anime and manga, infusing energy into the evening with melodies iconic.
Finally, the most awaited event of this edition, starting at 9pm: Cristina D’Avena, who will perform live her most famous songs linked to the universe of cartoons and the theme tunes that have marked several generations, followed by a Meet&Greet with equally iconic fans for many and many.
