European Elections: the Coordination of the “United States of Europe” List is born in the Marche, a new alliance between +Europa, Italia Viva, Italian Socialist Party, LibDem, Italian Radicals and Italia C’è.
The objective is to make the construction of the United States of Europe a concrete political priority, countering the rise of the nationalist right in the upcoming European elections in June 2024, crucial for the future of the European Union. This initiative represents the result of a modern convergence of ideals, the aim of which is to unite different souls, cultures and political sensitivities around the reformist principles of secularism, the rule of law, guaranteeism and strong Europeanism.
The United States of Europe represents the failed dream of Luigi Einaudi’s Italy, a project that would see its members operate through a principle of strengthened cooperation and a confederation of independent states. While a short-sighted policy seeks to promote the concept of “less Europe”, we believe that only a united and proactive Europe can respond to the needs of families and citizens, combating isolation and guaranteeing a cutting-edge future. We want a federal Europe, an alternative to the Europe of nations proposed by the illiberal right, addressing with a liberal spirit the challenges of current border conflicts, an aging population, welfare, the single financial system and high debt. This list is aimed at young people who embrace a European identity and at companies that aim for competitiveness, with the aim of offering not only rules but above all perspectives.
This project starts from the European elections and also aims to become the protagonist of a new national political proposal for the next regional elections in the Marche, with the aim of also aggregating other political forces with which it will be necessary to deal with the common intention of responding to the better to the needs of our Marche citizens. Given our openness to political and social dialogue, we are however today disappointed by the failure to invite the candidate for the United States of Europe Tiziano Busca to the event “Europe, what is at stake” where it would have been profitable for all voters and political forces to be able to know our proposals and have a discussion on such an important issue as that of public health, certain that it was just an unpleasant organizational inattention.
