Great satisfaction for the Under 19 team of Emma Villas Siena, coached by coach Marco Monaci, who participated in the regional final four of the category which was played in Sesto Fiorentino. The Sienese were defeated in the semi-final with a score of 3-0 by the strong team from Santa Croce sull’Arno, who then became Tuscan champions by winning the final against Torretta Livorno. The red and whites have fielded players who were part of the roster of the first team that played in the A2 series championship this year such as Mati Pardo, Loreti and Russo. “For the first time the Sienese team took part in the regional category Final Four – is the comment of coach Marco Monaci. – In the semi-final we faced a really strong team, we played the first set well, the second reasonably well while in the third we dropped the pace a bit. Also in this competition Santa Croce demonstrated its strength and quality”.

“The boys were a little excited and tense in the semi-final – continues coach Monaci. – However, in the previous matches they had shown excellent volleyball and were very combative on the court, especially in the block-defense phase. Against Santa Croce we struggled to show our game, but we still asserted ourselves. We are satisfied to have reached the goal of the regional Final Four for the Under 19s. The season has given good results as regards the youth sector. This year we reached the regional final stages of the Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19 categories. All the teams performed very well.”

The Under 19 team of Emma Villas Siena qualified for the regional Final Four of the category thanks to the victory in the match played in Castelnuovo Berardenga against Prato: on this occasion the Sienese won 3-1 (25-14, 26-24, 15-25, 25-21 partial scores). This success allowed the biancoblu, coached by coach Marco Monaci, to qualify for the Final Four together with Torretta Livorno, Santa Croce sull’Arno and Grosseto. “Against Prato we certainly achieved a very important victory – comments coach Marco Monaci. – We achieved success against a club that has a great tradition at youth level. The team provided an excellent performance, and Alessio Fontani’s return to the pitch was also important.”
