Florence launches the first incentives for bicycle use. The project is called: “Pedala, Firenze rewards you” and consists of a monthly contribution for those who use the bike instead of the car within the Tuscan municipality, with a bonus of 20 cents for each kilometer traveled and up to a maximum of 30 euros per month. But there are prizes for the most virtuous of up to 100 euros.
How does it work
Citizens who want to participate in this “green” project must book a kit online starting from May 13th, by downloading the Pin Bike app and filling out the participation application, while from May 20th they will be able to collect the kit from the local Urp offices. Pin Bike, a system for monitoring urban routes, will certify the actual use of the bicycle.

The incentives
The incentives will be credited by bank transfer to the current account and two paths will be provided: home-school and home-work. Those who use motor vehicles and switch to bicycles for home-work and home-school trips will receive 20 euro cents per kilometer to which 5 euro cents can be added for each kilometer on generic routes, as long as they are within the Municipality of Florence. The maximum amount will be equal to 2 euros per day up to 30 euros per month. Those who already used bicycles will be entitled to 15 euro cents per kilometer and 5 euro cents per kilometer on general routes. The maximum amount will be 1.20 euros per day for a maximum of 30 euros per month.
