Summer is approaching and the Subcommissioner for purification in Calabria, Tonino Daffinà, turns the spotlight on the coastal municipalities, to verify the state of the art of the works on the purification plants and promote, at the same time, interventions that can, already immediately , guarantee tourists and residents a bathing season that lives up to expectations.
The intent is to avoid the emergence of critical issues even where the situation, the subject of infringement procedure 2014/59, appears anything but simple to deal with. With these assumptions, in recent days, Daffinà went to the offices of the Municipality of Belvedere Marittimo, located on the Upper Tyrrhenian Sea of Cosenza, now under the aegis of the commissioner for what concerns purification.
The meeting was attended not only by the Sub-Commissioner and the technicians of the Commission Structure, but also by the administrators, the works management and the representative of the executing company. The subject of the comparison is both the sewerage collection works in progress and those, much more complex and currently at the primordial stage, to be carried out on the purification plant. In this regard, it is appropriate to state that the technicians will promptly prepare the documentation relating to an existing construction site, in order to better evaluate the scope of the intervention, any changes and complete the work without excessive delay in time. .
Once the documentation has been acquired in its entirety, the offices will develop a plan that will allow the works to be carried out in a sustainable timeframe, in line with the established timetable. The Department of the Purification Sub-Commissioner will be responsible for addressing any critical issues that may arise, starting with those of an undersized plant and, according to what emerged from an initial contact with the Municipality and manager, deficient in the electromechanical part. Among the priorities is also that of acting before the summer on the lifting stations to avoid causing inconvenience to tourists and residents during the bathing season. In short, a series of knots to be resolved, in Belvedere Marittimo, to try to make up for important delays that have accumulated over time, due to well-known vicissitudes.
