Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro communicates the overall turnout at the end of the regular season of the Serie A2 Old Wild West 2023-2024 championship. Based on SIAE data provided by the 24 participating companies, referring exclusively to paying spectators.

REGULAR SEASON (home/return + second “clock” phase) – In the 384 matches played during the regular season, 720,218 spectators flocked to the sports halls, for a match average of 1,875. Last year there were (in 413 races) 582,914, with a race average of 1,411. It is equivalent to saying that the average number of people present at the facilities increased by +33%. While the number of teams that had a turnout higher than the average for the championship was 42%. Note: At the end of the 2023 playoffs, the final audience figure for the entire season was 726,391. It is equivalent to saying that he will be widely beaten already at the end of Game 1 of the quarterfinals.

THE RECORD – The record figure in the regular season was recorded on the occasion of Flats Service Fortitudo Bologna-Old Wild West Udine (6/1/2024, second round), both for the 5,545 spectators and for the takings of €95,396.

CLOCK PHASE – In the 120 matches played, 228,362 spectators flocked to the sports halls, for a match average of 1,903. Therefore increasing the overall average spectators by a further +3%. Overall, in the second phase the Clubs collected an amount close to 2 million euros (€1,952,511). The best turnout figure of the second phase belongs to Verona, which saw its audience rise to 3,090, compared to 2,552 in the first phase. The other significant increases were recorded in Trapani (from 2,911 to 3,373), Cividale (from 2,208 to 2,526), ​​Forlì (from 2,955 to 3,234) and Rimini (from 2,851 to 2,958).

THE EXCELLENCES – The numbers confirm the absence of rivals for the dominance of Fortitudo Bologna, which boasts all 4 records under evaluation: overall spectators (81,600), average spectators per match (5,100), global takings (€1,330,378) and takings -medium (€83,149). In the Top 5 for media viewers at the end of the 32 days, Trieste (3,279), Trapani (3,056), Forlì (3,042), Cantù (2,963) follow. Completing the best ten are Udine (2,949), Rimini (2,885), Verona (2,720), Cividale (2,308) and Vigevano which at the end of the clock had crossed the 2000 mark (2,004).

FILLING PERCENTAGE – The Club that fills the most seats in its sports hall is Fortitudo Bologna, at 94% of the official capacity of the PalaDozza. Followed by Rimini (92%), Trapani (90%), Udine (87%) and Cividale (83%).

Last year, at the same point of the season, they were €4,671,767.

ATTENDANCE AND ABSOLUTE RECORD – Ten of the sixteen home matches played by Fortitudo Bologna represent the top 10 attendance figures of the season, ranging between the 5,104 hosting Milan (clock) and the 5,545 against Udine, a seasonal record. The other figures around 5,000 belong to Pallacanestro Trieste-Old Wild West Udine (4,991) and Tezenis Verona-Flats Service Bologna (4,899). The barrier of 3000 spectators was exceeded on 67 occasions, thanks to Fortitudo Bologna (16 times), Trieste (11), Forlì (10), Trapani (9), Cantù (7), Rimini (5), Udine (4 ), Verona (3), Milan and Vigevano (1). The absolute record for Serie A2, both in terms of spectators and takings, remains that recorded on 6 January 2017, for the Bologna derby between Virtus and Fortitudo, played at the Unipol Arena in front of 9,291 spectators, for takings of €262,046.
