The Strategic Regional Agency for the Eco-sustainable Development of the Territory, in synergy with the Department of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Puglia Region, organized days dedicated to the promotion of the culture of road safety in first and second level secondary schools of the region with the project “The road is not a jungle… at school”.
The Asset initiative is in continuity with the online student championship on road safety “The road is not a jungle” which involved children and teachers from schools in the regional area; it was thus decided to continue the intervention in the field of information and training for new generations of drivers with specific days dedicated to road safety. The succession of news reports of road accidents involving young people more and more often lead us to insist on precise actions aimed at guiding the behavior of young people and citizens for increasingly safe and sustainable mobility.
The project, coordinated by the manager of the Regional Monitoring Center for Road Safety (CREMSS) of Asset, involves the implementation of activities divided into two parts: a first part dedicated to theory with the intervention of sector experts on road accidents, including the Traffic Police and the Local Police, and the projection of the main communication campaigns on road safety and sustainable mobility; followed by a practical part which will put the kids in front of experiential paths with specific visors which have the aim of altering the perception of the state of driving as if one were under the influence of drugs or in a state of intoxication. The objective, therefore, is to be able to provide children with “alerts” on their lifestyle, both as drivers and pedestrians, in the near future.
It starts on May 6th with the first appointment at the “Vittorio Emanuele III-Dante Alighieri” comprehensive institute in Andria, followed by appointments throughout the regional territory.
