In line with the redevelopment plan of the “Borgo-Sanzio” district, the president of the III municipality of CataniaMaria Spampinato, appealed to Mayor Trantino to activate measures aimed at improving the decorum and liveability of Piazza Trento.
This space, Spampinato underlines, is crucial for the territory and requires targeted interventions.
“It is a meeting place and an important road junction for our community which requires specific interventions”, admits Spampinato.
“For this reason, it is necessary to initiate all procedures to eliminate potholes and depressions from the paving of the square.
Furthermore, it is essential to plan a traffic management system to combat the wild parking of motorbikes and scooters in pedestrian crossings, as well as the blocking of cars on pedestrian crossings and in front of disabled ramps”.
“We are talking about the center of Catania, a stone’s throw from the Court and the Carabinieri station in Piazza Verga”, continues Spampinato, “with Piazza Trento which in the evening becomes a meeting point for many of the city’s young people”.
The appeal of the president of the III municipality highlights the importance of concrete actions aimed at improving the quality of life and safety of citizens, while strengthening the social fabric and the usability of public spaces.
