PESARO – Slaps and elbows on the kids’ bus, there school trip ends with a complaint against the bus driver by the parents of the students involved. But let’s go in order. It all happened during the trip organized a couple of weeks ago by the Don Gaudiano comprehensive institute for eighth grade students, a way to say goodbye to the three-year period before the licensing exam. Destination Friuli Venezia Giulia with visits to places such as Trieste and Udine.

But during the journey, some kids would have celebrated in a slightly too exuberant way, according to the bus driver who would have become upset as the students would have behaved decidedly euphoric: they would jump along the corridor and bang on the windows of the bus. And once they arrived at the hotel the situation would have worsened. The teachers of the group had come down to manage the baggage collection and at this juncture the driver would have become extremely impatient. Screams and rude words were then reported by the students, up to the point of swearing. The story, which then became a complaint, then became more detailed. The man would have eagerly headed towards a boy who, according to him, was among the most restless. And to reach him he would have pushed his way through the corridor of the bus. Once he arrived in front of the boy, more screams, leading to spitting and a slap in the face.

What happened

Excited moments in which in turn a little girl who had found herself next to the driver would have tried to stop him by standing in front, to come between the man and her classmate. In this situation the adult would have struggled to move her but ended up hitting her in the eye with an elbow. The eye subsequently became red and swollen until the classic black bruise appeared. By then, however, the situation had become out of control. The other students started screaming, drawing the attention of the teachers who were busy with the luggage: “Prof, hurry up, the driver is hitting some kids.” The teachers rushed onto the bus, but in the meantime the driver had left. The girl, in shock, cried her eyes out and had an asthma attack. One of her friends alerted her mother and the school chats got hot. The parents asked to take the pupils to the nearest emergency room, but in the end they did not get a report during the trip which continued with the driver publicly apologizing on the microphone for what had happened. But by now the atmosphere was anything but relaxed, with the kids later continuing to say that they were frightened and upset by the episode. Comments also reported in various chats. Not only. Once they returned to Pesaro, the affected student went to the emergency room, with a black and swollen eye, where she was reported to have been attacked by a known person and was discharged with a prognosis of 7 days. So the parents of the two children who were involved in the slap and elbows decided to take legal action to clarify what happened, declaring themselves extremely sorry for the fact that the teachers did not take immediate action requesting the immediate replacement of the driver. The families have instructed the lawyer Mara Roccisano and the lawyer Alain Gonnet to sue the driver for injuries. Possible action against the school for negligence is also being considered.
