The Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè spoke at the meeting of the Executive Council of the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC), held in Milan which saw, among those present Julia SimpsonCEO of WTTC, Greg O’Hara, Founder and Director of Certares and President of the Executive Council. In addition to personalities of the caliber of Jason LibertyCEO and President of Royal Carribean Cruise, Nelson BoyceManager Director Travel at Google, Paolo Barletta CEO of Arsenale Spa, e Pierfrancesco VagoPresident of MSC Cruises.
The meeting had the aim of formalizing the implementation of the WTTC Global Summit in Italy, in Rome in 2025, the most prestigious and influential sector event in the world, where sector operators and government representatives come together to align efforts to support tourism in terms of safety, resilience, inclusiveness and sustainability.
“The ministry has based its strategy on promoting synergies between the public and the private sector which is already producing important results for the sector. The event we will host will be an opportunity to strengthen these synergies and to provide the best working conditions to the sector, because this is what politics must do: create the best conditions for those who do business. The Italian government will never disturb those who work but if anything supports it to the maximum, also strengthening the opportunities for international cooperation that events such as the global summit offer” commented the minister Daniela Santanchè.
