Eleven years ago Siena mourned the death of Roberto Ricci, “the minstrel”, as he himself loved to define himself. With his guitar and his music he entertained but also moved generations of Sienese: from the goliards, who promptly remember him, to the contrada members of his beloved Aquila. Genius and light-hearted, entertainer of many evenings, the memory of him is always alive in the city. “Roby” was a multi-faceted artist, who put his talent at the service of people, to make them laugh or dream. He was capable of mocking anyone in rhyme, without anyone getting offended.
We at Siena TV want to greet him once again by re-proposing this video recorded during a broadcast (in which he was a regular guest for musical interludes) in our studios.
“From a dinner for Robur’s greetings in which he cheered the guests by singing and playing the guitar – recalls Luciano Sardone -, it occurred to me to propose him again on TV. So after “courting” him for a long time (because he, like all the stars, loved to be courted), we had him on the show called “Calcio Spezia” and he was fully involved in the show. We did it for three seasons. I have wonderful memories linked to that period.”
