The president of the Laghezza freight forwarders: “It’s a challenge at a national level. In this way new productive activities would be developed”

La Spezia – It is a challenge launched at a national level: to build in the port of La Spezia the customs free zone which is part of decree 40, approved last April 2nd, which regulates special logistics zones. The appeal comes from the La Spezia port community, through Alessandro Laghezza, number one of the freight forwarders association. “The Customs Free Zones – he specifies – represent a potentially decisive leap in quality: they not only allow the storage of goods under suspension of payments and customs duties, but also make the processing of these goods possible, encouraging the settlement in the Zfd areas of real productive activities” “It would be an absolute novelty in Italy”, says Laghezza again: “The fact that the spotlight has turned on the port of La Spezia and the inland port of Santo Stefano Magra has nothing accidental: the one made up of the La Spezia airport and the inland port is already an operational system todaya real plug & play system, capable of guaranteeing full functionality in a very short time”.
