There Pink Race will see the go from Piedmont for the fourth time in history after 1961, 2011 and 2021. In the first fraction, a passage of the caravan on the Colle di Superga is expected, in memory of the 75 years of the tragedy of Grande Torino, the legendary football team that on the 4th May 1949 it was effectively canceled due to a plane crash. The first GPM of this pink race is Berzano of San Pietro (4th category of 4.4 km at 4.1%), followed by the ascent to Superga from the side of Baldissero Torinese (3rd category of 4.7 km at 9.2%). He will then cross the finish line for the first time, entering the final circuit of approximately 30 kilometres. Here will be the hardest climb of the dayColle Maddalena (2nd category of 6.1 km at 7.4%). But the tough spot that could decide the race and award the first pink jersey is San Vito (1.4 kilometers at 9.4%), which will end approximately 3 kilometers from the finish line. For this 2024 edition the organizers have maintained the prize money of past years, with the winner of the Giro d’Italia who will earn around 265 thousand euros, even if we are still very far from the prize money offered by the Tour de France. 11 thousand euros to the winner of each single stage, 20 thousand euros to the super fighter.
