Jesi – The “Palio of Dreamsthe” is upon us: presented this morning in the council chamber of the Municipality the rich plan of initiatives that will unfold between traditional and new events to enliven the XXVII edition of the Palio of San Floriano.
The historical reenactment will come to life as early as this weekend with the days pre-grappleIn fact, the first appointment will be tomorrow, Friday May 3 at 6.30 pm, in Piazza Federico II with the lighting of the stars of the Palio of dreams is Saturday May 4th with the Scampanada de San Fioràthe meeting in the cathedral with the children for the blessing of the bells and the procession to the church of San Nicolò, then the religious function still in the cathedral celebrated by bishop Gerardo Rocconi. The following weekend, from 9 to 12 Mayyou will enter the highlight of events.
In the presentation the mayor Lorenzo Fiordelmondo underlined the importance of this initiative above all as a vehicle for relationships and communication community dimension which is highlighted thanks to the organizational machine that was activated for the realization but also to the participation of all the Municipalities of Vallesina.

We will ensure that visitors are surrounded by this magical atmosphere between dream – precisely – and historical re-enactment”.
«Last year I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the atmosphere of the Palio and I was fascinated by the re-enactment of the traditions but also by the great work of all the organizers for the success of the event. This is why I promoted the value of the initiative in the Regional Council”, explained councilor Lindita Elezi.
A Palio which, as Emanuel Santoni recalled, will also involve the young people and schools thanks to the initiative “Once upon a time there was a piece of wood”which includes over 1,100 students in both the decoration of the sticks, approximately 1,600 have been coloured, both in the treasure hunt which recorded numbers last year record of memberships.
«This year we are restarting the competition Down to Sant’Anna, always aimed at students, divided into three categories, from 3 to 18 years old, students who will be able to exhibit their works in the church of San Nicolò on the morning of May 5th. Then in the evening at 6.30 pm they will be awarded prizes for the various age categories.”
The initiatives will take place in four main squares of the historic center, Piazza Baccio Pontelli it will be the scene of the most important and institutional events, Republic square will host the medieval market, in Colocci Square will take place there Bell run and the Archers competition, in Federico II Squarethe shows of street artists. Eight taverns open for the Palio evenings and two houses present.
Also animating the historic center are the Neighborhood Gamesin collaboration with the Group Scout Jesi 2.

Another new feature will be the Medieval music festival which includes various events in the streets of the centre, starting as early as May 4th with the Celtic-Medieval exhibition. Traveling performances also for 11 and 12 May by the Santa Lucia Choir, the San Francesco Choir and other musicians, who join the performances of street artists, always along the streets of the center like last year.
«Those who have walked through the historic center in recent days will certainly have noticed the light installations, which recall the theme of dreams, are located in Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Federico II and Piazza Baccio Pontelli and will be turned on during the various events», added Emanuel Santoni.
Reconfirmed for this year too Equestrian race in the green area of Porta Valle – Sunday 12 May – and a note of novelty also for the Archers competition which this year becomes national, will host 140 competitors from all over Italy«to whom the leaflet of Jesi with all the tourist information of the city, thus also aiming at the tourist promotion of our territory”, underlined the organizers.
Also mention the activities organized in collaboration with the Federico II Museum Stupor Mundi and illustrated by the director Lucia Basilithe medieval events in the streets of the center and the historical processions through the city.
The Palio di San Floriano organization will also be present with a delegation at the events dedicated to Stupor Mundi Festival which will take place on 9, 10 and 11 May at the Hotel Federico II, in which the Museum will also participate Stupor Mundi.
The events of the Palio will conclude with the show of the Wisps this year present with a new version, focused on the theme of dreams.
