PAPOZZE (Rovigo) Phase 1 of the works planned as part of the general project has begun “Enhancement of tourist routes” which will affect various areas of the Municipality of Papozze.

The Mayor announced this in a joint note Pierluigi Mosca and the councilor with responsibility for maintenance Umberto Varolo.

“The overall project – he announces Fly – concerns the redevelopment of some areas that fall within our Municipality, such as the part of the floodplain on the Po river, the public spaces of the hamlet of Panarella, the WWF nature oasis and the hull hauling area”.

“Sometimes unfortunately – continues the Mayor – bureaucracy turns out to be an involuntary slowdown in the implementation of the projects planned by the administrations, but finally with the start of these interventions we have reached the point.

The objective of this important tourist operation is on the one hand to create a strategic-functional connection with the route called the “Vento” cycle route, a large project underway promoted by the Polytechnic of Milan, which involves the creation of a cycle infrastructure that it will unite all of Northern Italy, including Papozze; on the other, promoting Papozze and the hamlet of Panarella as an added value for the whole territory, from an environmental and cultural point of view, as an attractive center for visitors.

“The project – he explains Fly – can be summarized in 6 areas of intervention: 5 concern the hamlet of Panarella with the adaptation of the Civic Hall, the new camper parking area, the redevelopment of the public spaces outside the Civic Hall, the WWF Oasis and the Cemetery and 1 in Papozze at the hull hauling area”.

The various works will be carried out in two temporally distinct phases, the first which will concern the first 2 points of Panarella, with the adaptation of the civic hall and the creation of the camper parking area and the second which will concern the other 4 remaining interventions.

“Going into detail – he explains Varolo – the works of phase 1 will consist of the creation of an equipped camper parking area, with the creation of 6 stations, the installation of 2 electric charging stations, a picnic area and the activation of a system of video surveillance in the area”.

“As for the Civic Hall – he continues Varolo – it is about its redevelopment, providing the future possibility of also setting up an information space that can welcome tourists”.

An internal redistribution of the spaces is planned, aimed at functional adaptation for use also as a polling station. The new internal distribution of the project, for the part of public use, focuses on the elimination of architectural barriers.

The project in question has the objective of making the town more attractive for visitors coming from outside the area, integrating itself into an area of particular historical and cultural interest as there is a 16th century Villa called Lardi located in the center of Panarella, currently the subject of an important conservative restoration.

“It’s a great satisfaction – he concludes Varolo – for all of us citizens, especially for the inhabitants of Panarella, this start of work. For years we have been acting to promote our small but lovely community and finally after years of hard team work we are proudly seeing it come to fruition. The second phase of the project is also expected to begin within a few months, which will include the execution of the subsequent interventions”.
