Salò, 1 May 2024 – The expected derby between FeralpiSalò and Brescia ends with a tie which, essentially, is welcomed kindly by the Rondinelle, who remain in the playoff zone (even if they slip to eighth place), while once again offering ample reasons for regret to the Garda players, who are unable to achieve the strongly desired victory and two days from the end they find themselves four points adrift of the play outs.

Mathematics keeps Zaffaroni’s team aliveeven if closing the gap from the safety play-offs will not be at all easy in the last two matchdays that will be called the green and blue team to visit Venezia and play the direct match against Ternana. As for the Maran team, 180′ from the finish line Bisoli and his teammates enjoy a two-point advantage over Reggiana and Sudtirol and three over Pisa, Cosenza and Cittadella.

At this point for the white and blue team the next round against Lecco becomes decisive which, in the event of victory, could bring the promotion play-offs closer in a decisive way.

The match

As regards the “Garilli” challenge, the two contenders start immediately high pace and Brescia, still “outstanding” and deployed on the occasion with Maran’s three-man defence, broke the deadlock after 5′. Bisoli jumps highest of all on a cross from Mangraviti and beats Pizzignacco.

The immediately uphill game doesn’t make the team lose their bearings green and blue teamwho reacts with pride and in the 9th minute he straightens the situation with Dubickas, who returns a rebound from Lezzerini following a cross shot from Felici into the net. The immediate equalizer increases the will of FeralpiSalò, who persists forward and forces the Rondinelle goalkeeper into a double intervention on La Mantia and Balestrerobut the clearest goal-ball comes in the 26th minute, when Dubickas appears alone in front of Lezzerini, but the post with which he tries to go over the white-blue goalkeeper sadly flies over the crossbar.

Despite the clear wasted opportunity, the Garda team he doesn’t lose heart and takes action in the 29th minute the desired overtaking with La Mantia, who makes use of his acrobatic skills and gives the home team the lead. This time it is Brescia that does not give up and at the end of the first half they press decisively in search of the tie which arrives in the 42nd minute, when Bisoli and Papetti again throw themselves at the ball which ends up in the net. They both celebrate, but the last touch is awarded to Papetti.

The script of the second half is clearly shown from the first minutes. FeralpiSalòwho cannot be satisfied with a draw, pushes forward with increasing determination, putting Brescia in difficulty. There is no shortage of shivers for the white-blue defense, but the goal of the new lead does not arrive. At 34′ Compagnon, ahead of Lezzerini, lacks the winning touchwhile on the other front Pizzignacco says no to the Rondinelle flare-ups with Bjarnason and Huard.

The derby, therefore, ends at 2-2, with Brescia who can hope to secure a place in the play-offs on Sunday by seeking victory against Lecco, while the permanence in Serie B of FeralpiSalò, who will visit Venezia on Sunday, is linked now only to mathematics.
