In its history, Ferrari has also designed an incredible motorbike, with the classic style of the Prancing Horse.

The prancing Horse in fact he immediately launched himself into the F1 project, so much so that Ferrari already entered the first World Championship in 1950 and never left from there. A decision that has thus allowed it to become iconic and, over the course of history, to become the most supported team in the world.

There Ferrari therefore it is not just a myth in Italy, but has become one throughout the world, also thanks to the successes of a series of exceptional champions. The seven world titles of Schumacher have been won in five cases with the Red and the fact that another absolute phenomenon like Lewis Hamilton has always dreamed of racing with Ferrari makes the value of the Cavallino clear.

However, we have also always aimed at an extreme luxury market, with the Reds never really getting close to motorbikes. In reality, few people know that Maranello’s first and only two-wheeler actually exists, a project that left everyone stunned and which was auctioned off in the past.

Ferrari 900: incredible first two-wheeled model

In the end, Ferrari also had the opportunity to boast its first historic motorcycle model, with the project being a masterpiece by David Kay. In fact, in 1990 he asked for permission to Piero Ferrari to be able to build, privately and with just one example, what must be considered the only Ferrari motorcycle ever.

As soon as he received approval from Maranello, Kay he began his project and completed it in 1995. Its creation led to the birth of a Ferrari 900 with a 16-valve four-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 900. In this way it was a motorcycle that was capable of delivering 105 horsepower.

As per Ferrari tradition, its two-wheeled model also had to focus on speed. So this is how the 900 was able to reach 265 km/h. After 13 years, Kay decided to auction the Ferrari 900 on the well-known site Bonhams, but the request seemed too high. Even though it was a unique model, in 2008 there was no such request, so much so that the starting value of 220 thousand Euros did not obtain approval.

Apparently, however, time knows how to be a gentleman, so much so that in 2012 things changed. This time Kay he moved to a much more popular platform like eBay and went well beyond expectations. The auction ended with the sale of the Ferrari 900 for a total value of 250 thousand pounds, over 300 thousand euros. A price that highlights how even the only motorcycle in the history of the Cavallino was worthy of being able to enter the absolute myth of the Red.
