An Atlantic vortex positioned close to the British Isles, blocked in its eastward motion by a robust anticyclonic promontory over northern Europe, has conveyed the Piedmont southern humid flows, causing widespread bad weather. Heavy rainfall has swollen the river Bitas shown in the video created by George Fotia this morning at San Mauro Torinese (TO). At the moment there are no critical issues reported.

As reported by Arpa Piemonte, during tomorrow the low pressure area will tend to move towards the East, flowing along the Alpine arc: this will lead to a progressive attenuation of the phenomena with residual showers close to the mountains and maximum temperatures gradually increasing. For Saturday More showers are expected in the Alps and irregularly cloudy skies elsewhere.
