The private security guards present at the entrance to the emergency room of the S.Croce and Carle hospital in Cuneo were subjected to verbal and physical threats between 24 and 25 April. A new episode of public disorder in the city center.
The area has in fact recently been the scene of other moments of tension. This time the victims of threats were the two guards in charge of supervising and ensuring the safety of the healthcare personnel and citizens in charge of the emergency room within the hospital.
“Around 11.00 pm – says a security guard victim of threats -, at the entrance to the Emergency Room of the Santa Croce and Carle Hospital, a man appeared in a clear state of alteration, who requested, from the first minutes, the intervention of the Telecontrol Special Guards, on duty in the garrison hospital.
The man, equipped with bottles of alcohol, one of which was broken into shards and used as a “weapon”, verbally and physically threatened the officers and made several attempts to block ambulance access to the emergency room, effectively hindering the service .
The intervention of the GPG agents, who remained unharmed by the man’s attacks, made it possible to avoid the subject’s access to the emergency room area where healthcare personnel incessantly provide care to citizens who need it.
Timely – concludes the guard – the arrival of the police officers who concluded the intervention with the arrest and removal of the dangerous subject”.
