Apt Basilicata, the third edition of Fucina Madre opens

From ceramics to goldsmith art, from wood to crochet, from digital art to the recovery of ancient manufacturing traditions. It is a true mosaic of Lucanian excellence that 44 artisans, makers and designers, coming from every part of Basilicata, will present from 1st to 5th May as part of the third edition of “Fucina Madre”, the exhibition of craftsmanship and design set up, for this edition, in the spaces of Le Monacelle, in via Riscatto 15, in Matera.

For five days along the exhibition itinerary it will be possible to admire, and possibly purchase, some of the most qualified productions of the rich Lucanian artisan panorama, all handmade works where creativity, art and design intersect.

“The APT – states the director, Antonio Nicoletti – kicks off the third edition of Fucina Madre, the original territorial promotion project focused on craftsmanship and design which on the one hand aims to enrich the regional tourist destination with cultural content, and on the other hand it identifies artisans and designers as true animators of beauty, interpreters of taste and contemporary lifestyle, the fulcrum of a new tourist proposal linked to the territories where they themselves live and work. In this perspective, the activities of Fucina Madre 2024 focus heavily on the creation of an active network of artisans and designers, aimed at transforming their activity into an experience of cultural exchange with visitors, according to a sustainable tourism model that concerns both the cities as well as the villages of Basilicata”.

The exhibition ribbon cutting will be held Wednesday 1 May, at 11am, with the participation of the artisans, makers and designers who exhibit and the representatives of the institutions. This will be followed at 7pm by the show “The village tells: the story of Isabella Morra” by Ninì Truncellito.
