“Playoffs? We can win them, I didn’t expect this continuity”

Angelo TaliaBenevento footballer, spoke during the “A Tutta C” program on TMW Radio to comment on various topics.

A comment on the season?
“After the first season I spent in Potenza I didn’t expect this continuity. I am very happy with my performances with this shirt because it is a city to which I owe a lot. I arrived as a child and I hope to take this club as high as possible.”

On the team?
“We are a team with a staff made up of quality and experienced players. For me we have what it takes to win these playoffs.”

About the coach?
“With his arrival he helped the team from all points of view, especially the mental one. I thank him for what he is doing with the team. He gave everyone the chance to play and this united us all very much.”

Environment?
“After a relegation that hurt a lot I think we had a good championship. We have to continue on this team because we can go all the way in the playoffs. I didn’t have any pressure or difficulties from the fans because I’m from here. The fans are very close to the team and next to us in view of the playoffs.”

Is it better to play immediately or after the playoffs?
“I can say that having more than a month off I think is almost burdensome. It will be hard to get back into the rhythm of the game. We have two weeks off and we can study the teams. We had a mini retreat in Rome for a week and we are preparing in a big way for Tuesday.”

Contract renewed last year. For the future?
“I arrived in Benevento when I was 13-14 years old. For me it was a dream and I can say that it was a great emotion. Last year I renewed the contract to extend it. I felt like I was doing it for the club and I wanted to thank the president for all the trust he puts in young people. I hope to fulfill my dream and reach the top.”

Does Serie C train young people?
“I can say that Serie C is a springboard for us young people. To play in Serie B and Serie A you need experience. It can be a springboard to get to Serie B and then show off.”

Who inspires you?
“As a child I was always inspired by Modric. When I moved from mid-forward, however, I saw myself a lot in Barella. Between midfielder and midfielder I prefer to play in midfield.”
