Velletri, the children of the Santa Marta and Marandola nursery schools color the cartoons of the Volsca for the Procession of the Madonna delle Grazie

With trembling anticipation the City of Velletriso rich in traditions and culture, is preparing for the 411th edition of the Solemn Procession of the Candles of the Madonna delle Grazie. Like every year, the anticipation is high and the community is ready to unite in a moment of faith and celebration, which had as its prologue the Exhibition of the Sacred Image, this morning, in the Basilica of San Clemente.

Behind the scenes of this great event, there is meticulous and fundamental work that deserves special recognition. At dawn, punctual as for some years now, one team of workers from Volsca Environment and Services has taken action to ensure that the procession route can be safe for everyone. Their mission? Arrange i protective cardboard along the cobblestones of the streets of the Veliterno center, thus preventing accidents caused by the wax that accumulates during the passage of the procession. The team, made up of dozens of workers, worked with patience and precision, covering kilometers of road with well-fixed cardboard strips.

The wax, in fact, can create slippery and dangerous surfaces, putting at risk the safety of thousands of faithful who will participate in the procession, but also of pedestrians and cars that will pass by in the following days. Thanks to the intervention of Volsca Environment and Services, this danger was significantly reduced, ensuring a safe and accident-free procession.

But the work of these workers was not limited to the mere laying of cardboard. In fact, thanks to the initiative “Color in the Course”, these cartoons have also become an opportunity for the creativity of children from associations and schools. In the stretch between the Trivio Tower and the Covered Market, the children colored the cartoons with lively drawings and positive messages in honor of Our Lady of Graces. Among the participating schools, the Santa Marta Nursery School he brought his enthusiasm and motto “Make Good Bloom”helping to make the journey even more special.

The children of the school were also the protagonists Marandola Nursery School, of the Velletri Center Comprehensive Institute.

Also the Mayor Ascanio Cascella participated in the event, helping the children to color the cartoons and praising their “colorful sacrifice” in view of the passage of the Madonna. The initiative also saw protagonists associations “The Little Prince”, “Fantanimation”, and “Gens Nova” have given their contribution, involving children and adults in this community initiative.

The work of Volsca Ambiente e Servizi and the creativity of children are shining examples of how a community can collaborate to make such a heartfelt event not only safe, but also aesthetically pleasing and meaningful. Applause goes to all those who participated in this initiative, and special thanks to the workers who, with their painstaking work, will make possible a safe and festive Procession for the thousands of faithful Veliterni who will flock to the city this evening.
