COSENZA «The rules of the ‘ndrangheta are the same, respected everywhere both in the South and in the North of Italy, and abroad (…) the ‘ndrangheta is a top-down structure that is headed by the main club in San Luca known as “la mamma”. The repentant Francesco Oliverio, confesses this in an interrogation on 19 December 2013. Eleven years ago, the statement provides investigators with useful information in understanding how each “local” has “its own decision-making autonomy in its territory of competence”. The same collaborator defines it as «a sort of “paradox”». «All the premises depend on the Crime of San Luca, but each premises is autonomous in its territory», claims Oliverio who then outlines the contours of the organization of the mafia. «The three districts of Reggio Calabria, Jonico and Tirrenico depend on the Crime of San Luca». But there’s more. «As far as I know, in Calabria, there are other recognized crimes (…) it is the Cirò Crime, the Cosenza Crime and the Vibo Valentia Crime. The passage, included in the reasons for the appeal sentence of the “Rinascita Scott” trial, is important because it represents a further rumor considered credible on the presence of a crime also in Cosenza. And the Bruzio hinterland will be the scene of an episode, as emerged in the maxi investigation of the Catanzaro DDA, which also sees the repentant among the protagonists Andrea Mantella.
Macrì, Mantella and “Villa Verde”
