“Foligno on stage” brings the Crosses to Italy

Good news for Deftones and dark wave fans who will be able to live a unique experience in Foligno. The Crosses will in fact be in Italy for the first time ever this summer, for two concerts on the edge of dreams, one of which in Foligno in the splendid setting of the San Domenico Auditorium (the other Italian date is at Alcatraz in Milan) .

The event scheduled for Thursday 13 June (from 7pm) is the new appointment of the “Foligno On Stage” event which therefore continues the 2023/2024 season with the program conceived and organized by Athanor Eventi, in collaboration with Coop Culture, Centro Servizi Foligno and Municipality of Foligno.

A dark and melancholic electronic project by Chino Moreno of Deftones and the multi-instrumentalist producer Shaun Lopez of Far, Crosses are a dreamlike journey between synth pop, dream pop, ambient and trip-hop, where the melody overcomes the raw aggression but not the loss of balance.

Breaking into the Top Ten of the US Heatseekers already with their second EP, Crosses immediately dismayed the international scene. Adopted first by Sumerian Records for their first full length, which rose to 26th place on the Billboard 200 and appeared in the US Top 40 Singles, and later by Warner, the Crosses bewitched none other than Robert Smith (The Cure), Duff McKagan (Guns N ‘ Roses) and Chris Robyn (Far), with whom three breathtaking collaborations immediately emerged.

Tickets are on presale on the Ticket Italia and Ticket One circuits.

The “Foligno On Stage” program will then continue with an incursion into auteur jazz. On November 8 (9.15 pm) again at the San Domenico Auditorium, Raphael Gualazzi’s new project will be staged: “Raphael Gualazzi Live 2024”. Born in 1981, Raphael Gualazzi is a singer-songwriter, composer, arranger, musician and producer.

After classical studies at the Conservatory, Gualazzi has always experimented with different musical genres, giving life to a very personal style, including stride piano, jazz, blues and fusion.

In September 2009, the meeting with Caterina Caselli led him to sign a recording contract with Sugar. His career quickly surpassed the Italian borders. In 2011 it was the turn of the Sanremo Festival with the song “Follia d’amore” where he ranked first in the Youth category, won the “Mia Martini” Critics Award, the Radio and TV Press Room Award and the Assomusica Award for best live performance. His second album “Reality and Fantasy” reaches consecration beyond national borders on the occasion of the first International Jazz Day, at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

After other publications and other live experiences around the world, in October 2023 the new album of unreleased songs entitled “Dreams” was released by CAM Sugar which was followed by a tour in the theaters of the main Italian cities, in a ‘unprecedented quintet formation. On 10 January 2024 he released the EP “Dreams in Jazz”, a project in which Gualazzi revisited three songs by three masters of the soundtrack, namely Armando Trovajoli, Piero Piccioni and Piero Umiliani, from the CAM Sugar archive.
