Taranto: The Financial Police identifies 40 illegal workers and numerous violations

40 “illegal” workers and 3 “irregular”. It is the result of the work of the last days of the Fiamme Gialle of the Provincial Command of Taranto as part of the economic control activity of the territory.

The inspections involved the municipalities of Taranto, Leporano, Martina Franca, Grottaglie, Massafra, Manduria, Sava, San Marzano di San Giuseppe, Avetrana, Lizzano, Torricella, Castellaneta and Palagianello.
The violations found concern various types of commercial activities, including construction companies, fuel distributors, pubs, sandwich shops, laundries and rental businesses with drivers. In such
context, 34 employers were reported for the use of illegal labor and in 6 cases the Guardia di Finanza asked the competent Territorial Labor Inspectorate to issue a
provision for suspension of the activities of the inspected companies.
Furthermore, in the last two months, at the end of checks carried out to combat tax evasion, the Ionian financiers detected over 100 violations of the obligations of storing and sending electronic payments (tax receipts). The commercial establishments affected by these violations include businesses present throughout the province, such as bars, restaurants, butchers, ice cream parlors, clothing stores, etc.
Undeclared work and tax evasion constitute a serious obstacle to economic development because they distort competition and the allocation of resources, undermine the relationship of trust between citizens and the State and
they penalize equity, taking away space for intervention in favor of the weakest social groups.
Hence the importance of the “surgical” action carried out by the Guardia di Finanza against these plagues.
