The sports center Trilacumfor years at the center of the dispute between Asuc by Vigolo Baselga And Municipality of Trento, has returned to shine (almost) like in its golden years, thanks to the intervention of the town’s volunteers. Over seventy participants in the morning’s work yesterday, 25 April, “20% of the local population demonstrating how citizens are united and ready to form a common front”, explained the president of the ASUC Flavio Franceschini.
«And someone, in recent days, said that Vigolo Baselga was “split in two” on the issue of the sports centre. Here is the answer: a united community, which responded “present” and did an incredible job, putting the interest in the collective good before everything else »he added. In collaboration with the 1513 association and the local volunteer fire brigade, the Asuc has therefore returned to renovate the sports center – but also the rest of the town – within the limits of its availability.

The Trilacum sports centre, for years at the center of the dispute between the Asuc of Vigolo Baselga and the Municipality of Trento, has returned to shine (almost) as it did in its golden years, thanks to the intervention of the town’s volunteers.
In fact, just a few days ago, during the Municipality’s supervisory commission in which the tone became quite heated (the Adige of 17 April), the large plant was back in the spotlight due to the controversy that has been affecting Asuc and the administration for years municipality: the only solution on the table, for the moment, would seem to be the exchange of land to equalize the value of the structure, however the agreement between the parties seems, to date, still a long way off.
However, the person who did not rule out pursuing other paths, as reiterated among other things during the meeting in the commission, was President Franceschini himself. And yesterday, when he took over the sports center together with the citizens, the ASUC spokesperson also highlighted what the alternative solutions to the negotiation with the Municipality could be. «As already said, there are other ways and we are discussing it with those directly interested – he underlined, although without naming the names of those who have come forward so far – We are thinking about the possibility of renting to a private sports club.
The Trilacum sports center should obviously be placed in the internal parts, but it would take less time than the construction of other sports spaces, for example, in the San Vincenzo area. So some discussions are underway. Then there is the option of sale and, on this, a company from outside the region has come forward. But selling it would be the last resort, because we wouldn’t be able to manage all that money and we wouldn’t have a way to invest it to buy other land which, to date, is not available. Lately there has also been talk of the creation of an energy community, perhaps placing solar panels directly on football pitches, although the investment in this case would have to be huge. In light of all this, we therefore tell the Municipality of Trento to hurry up and not miss the opportunity to get the sports center back.”
