The third and final stage of the Gold Individual Regional Championship of the Italian Gymnastics Federation took place on Saturday 20 April at the Pala Millennium in Rosolini. The Gold, a highly specialized sector of artistic gymnastics, sees the Asd Marsala Gym Lab present for the province of Trapani with the Gymlabine Sofia De Filippi and Asia Bernardone who carry the colors of the city of Marsala and Marsala sport high, winning the title respectively Regional Gold Champion in the A1 category (classes of 2016 and 2015) and Vice Regional Gold Champion in the A2 category (class of 2014). For the A1 category, Sofia De Filippi of Marsala Gym Lab wins (121,000 points) followed by Gioia Reale Ruffino of ASD Gymnasium Capo d’Orlando (117,900 points) and Marica Lupo of ASD Millennium (116,650 points). For the A2 category, first Sara Urbani of Società Unime (144,775 points), second Asia Bernardone of Marsala Gym Lab (144,350 points), followed by Arianna Maria Ginevra Garito of Società Unime (137,450 points). Great confirmations therefore for the only company in the province participating in the highest sector foreseen for students (classes 2016-2012), which had already obtained the same qualifications in 2023. Next appointment for the two prestigious students of the ASD Marsala Gym Lab from 17 to 19 May in Riccione where they will take part in the 120 semi-final of the Italian Gold Student Championship and where only the 40 best gymnasts will compete for the final on Sunday which will award the title of Italian Champion.
Thus the federal technician Gilda Tortorici: “We have always been certain of the value and talent of these two young promises. They train 24 hours a week with commitment, love and consistency. They deserved these results and they arrived. We were unable to achieve a double title due to the gap of only 4 tenths from the first in the A2 category but we are still satisfied with Asia’s performance who improved her personal best by 5 points demonstrating great maturity and growth. As we always say, winning is not the only thing that matters, after all you learn much more from defeats, a great launching pad for great businesses. We are preparing for the Italian Championship where we recognize that we do not yet have a highly competitive program to be able to aspire to medals but we are working to reach the final and try to place ourselves in the mid-table”.
