CRI regional training camp in Sesto San Giovanni

Milan, 25 April 2024 – It’s underway 2nd CRI Regional Training Camp organized by the CRI Lombardy Regional Committee: at theMarzabotto Comprehensive Institute in Via Savona 135 in Sesto San Giovanni beyond 250 volunteers are engaged in training courses organized in response to the training needs received from the Territorial Committees in order to increase and deepen the skills of their volunteers who increasingly find themselves facing challenges in the territory in the service of citizens. The training session was held online from 22 to 24 April and in person from 25 to 28 April.

The courses activated

There are five areas of intervention:

Civil Protection Intervention Area

– Social Worker in Emergency: the course aims to train Operators who carry out support activities in the social, healthcare and welfare sectors in order to activate, in emergencies and in the prevention phase, targeted interventions suited to the type of beneficiaries and their needs;

– Update for Emergency Activity Coordinators: the course aims to update to maintain the qualification of the figure of the Coordinator understood as a person capable of planning, preparing and managing emergency activities, being able to guarantee functional connections between centers coordination, operations rooms, field activities and any other actors of the National System even other than the Association.

– Updating of emergency operators: the course aims to update CRI Emergency Operators (OPEM) in order to guarantee interoperability through standard training at a national level.

Health Intervention Area

– Course for operators in Prevention and Promotion of Health and Healthy Lifestyles: the course aims to stimulate participants in developing a holistic vision of health and a personal awareness inherent to the factors that determine it, framing the concept of prevention and the levels that compose it, but also to give an overview of the actions that can be carried out within the Italian Red Cross in this area

– Course for adult and pediatric BLSD performers: the course aims to acquire the cognitive and methodological tools and skills necessary to prevent anoxic brain damage and recognize the state of unconsciousness, arrest in an adult and pediatric patient respiratory and pulseless in a condition of absolute safety for himself, for the person rescued and for bystanders; To teach participants the life-saving maneuvers and the basic sequence for adults, infants and children in respiratory and/or cardiac arrest or with obstruction of the airways by a foreign body; acquire the knowledge and skills relating to the use of the semi-automatic defibrillator in subjects in cardiopulmonary arrest; acquire the management skills of the emergency rescue team for the early use of the semi-automatic defibrillator.

– Medical Transport and Ambulance Rescue Trainer training course: The course has the main objective of acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to guide/accompany the volunteer rescuer in achieving the skills envisaged in the profile of the same and facilitate the learning of operational technical maneuvers for medical transport and rescue.

– Adult and Pediatric Lifesaving Maneuvers Trainer Course: The course aims to train trainers capable of facilitating the learning process of specific skills, understood as knowledge, personal skills and acquired skills and behaviours; to train experts in teaching relating to the relevant activity and in the planning and execution of courses for performers of life-saving maneuvers;

Migration Area of ​​Intervention

– Course for operators of the Restoring Family Links service: the course aims to provide a complete overview of the functioning of the service, the tools available to the international RFL network and the skills to be able to operate in order to re-establish family ties.

Area of ​​intervention Principles and Values

– Peace education worker: the course aims to increase the volunteer’s awareness of the dynamics of discrimination, intolerance, prejudice and violence of the reality that surrounds him, to be aware of the positive value of criticism and self-criticism, through a flexible attitude and ready for discussion, enriched by the multiplicity of points of view;

Youth Intervention Area

– Youth Path Director: the course aims to increase awareness of the potential of young people within the community, the Association and the Movement, through dialogue and the sharing of opinions and lived experiences, creating an environment suitable for encouraging active participation, creativity, personal expression and own skills and competences; acquire the skills needed to relate to others through improving interpersonal communication, within the environments in which they live and within the Association.
