The sound of a siren woke Caterina with a start. She remained still in bed for a few seconds, unsure of what she should do. She reached out to check the time on her phone and see if there were any missed calls.

4.57 am. Then she leaned back against the pillow, relaxing. He was retired, no longer at work.

He heard the sound of the siren fading but the lights continued to flash, he observed the reflection in the night through the half-opened shutter. She got out of bed and went to the window to see where the police car was. Leaning over, she noticed that she had stopped at the Magnolia condominium, the building that was located before her home.
